2. Service Nature: Public Comparison Engine (Non-Merchant)
PCPicker.ma is a public search and price comparison engine. We are not an online retailer:
- No Commercial Transactions: We do not sell products directly. No financial transactions take place on our platform, and we never collect, store, or process credit cards or bank details.
- Merchant Redirection: Clicking an outbound link redirects you directly to the retailer’s verified online store (e.g. UltraPC, SetupGame, NextLevelPC). Once redirected, the retailer’s own terms and privacy policy apply.
- Public Information Indexing: Prices, specifications, and inventory statuses indexed on PCPicker.ma are factual, publicly accessible commercial data.
3. Data Collected & Processing Purposes
A. Price Drop Notifications
If you subscribe to an alert for a specific component, we store your browser push subscription or email address alongside your target price in MAD. This is used exclusively to dispatch the alert when the price drops.
B. Error & Discrepancy Reporting
When you report a pricing error, broken link, or out-of-stock issue, we record the report description and page URL. Providing your contact details (email/phone) is strictly voluntary.
C. Outbound Merchant Clicks
To prevent click fraud and compute aggregated partner stats, outbound clicks record a one-way SHA-256 cryptographic hash of your IP address. Your raw IP is never stored in our database.
4. Data We NEVER Collect (Privacy Guarantees)
- No Mandatory Accounts or Passwords: You can browse all products and assemble custom PC builds completely anonymously without signing up.
- No Financial or Payment Data: No credit card numbers, bank accounts, or CMI tokens are ever handled.
- No Invasive Third-Party Tracking Pixels: Our platform is free from Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, and ad-retargeting scripts.
- No Data Brokering: We never sell, rent, or trade user data to third parties.
5. Privacy-Focused Cookieless Analytics (Umami)
We use Umami Analytics to track aggregate pageviews and popular categories. Umami is completely cookieless, does not track users across websites, does not store raw IP addresses, and complies with GDPR and Moroccan CNDP privacy standards.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
We only use essential functional mechanisms required for site operation:
pcpicker_lang: First-party cookie saving your chosen language preference.theme: Browser localStorage storing dark/light mode preference.- Local PC Builder State: Components added in the PC Builder are stored directly in your browser's localStorage, not on our servers.
7. Your Legal Rights (Moroccan Law 09-08 & GDPR)
In accordance with Moroccan Law No. 09-08 (CNDP) and GDPR Articles 15–22, you have the right to:
- Access any personal data held about you (e.g. active price alerts).
- Request immediate rectification or deletion (Right to be Forgotten).
- Opt out or object to any automated processing.
